The battery acts as an accumulator, so an intermittant Alt would be OK. So, mounting the alt under the truck, to be driven off the back of the tranny. For rare charging at idle, use the false neutral in the t/c, put tranny in hi.
That would free up the alternator spot to run the AC compressor off the engine. It would work at idle from there.
I would need a park brake flange from the single speed t/c model, make a pulley fit the flange. Pulley 7-8" dia, get that alt up to speed.
Just thoughts, if I build this truck into a woody.
