I invited my son Andy out Sunday when some friends and I were going to paint the M-37. He said he might come out after church, and I knew with going to church also meant going to his wife's grandma and grandpa's for lunch as they do every Sunday.

Grandpa Gene was in the Navy in WWII, and Andy (full-time Army National Guard here in NE) LOVES to talk Military stuff with him. Gene doesn't get to talk with his grandsons 'cause they don't really have any military connection and would probably be bored with his old stories, whereas my son eats 'em up! So Andy said he mentioned helping me paint the M-37. Gene got all excited and said he loved his M-37 on Midway! (Okay, for the purpose of this story, you and I know he didn't have an M-37 on Midway, but he knew enough that those old WC's were close enough!) He said he used the winch every day, and he would often hook the tow bar to the front wheel of an F4-U Corsair that he maintained for the 2nd Marine fighter squadrons, and pull them around. He told Andy he sure loved those old powerwagons!
