I know its a fuel pump because the vac pump was above it and it had a hose straight to the carb inlet and back to the tank.

The fuel tank had been relocated to the driver side right behind the cab and was high enough that the firewall mounted fuel pump would probably have worked with gravity on its side. I was posting it more as a joke.

This truck is in really bad shape as the frame is all hacked up from an amateur attempt to stretch it, and the cradle in the front is all hacked up from the engine swap...don't know why unles the original installer was trying to lower the motor for some reason (I've seen the same thing on a Willys pickup that had a Super Hurricane 6 swapped in). There are no axles, springs, or even spring hangars on the frame, but the cab, fenders, and the rest of the front end metal are in salvageable condition. Pop has a Jeep frame from one of my previous projects that has Chevy 3/4 ton axles under it and a 283 motor to power it.

Dave, if the vac pump is still operational, I'll send it out to you!
