The first photo in your restoration album shows the frame extensions severely bent downward and the passenger side of the rear winch angle not bolted down. My guess is that it may never had been bolted down because the holes did not align when the winch was added by a previous owner - assuming it did not come from the factory this way.
That severe bending of the frame extensions may also have transmitted some weird twisting back into the frame rails.
