Dodge slant 6 question

Is there a dust shield or plate that fits behind the starter ? I upgraded to a mini starter .
When I crank the engine over it sounds like a trash can full of rocks rolling down a hill . Considering that I have had the engine and car for almost 40 years I can not recall if there ever was a shield back there .
Yes I now have spark . After changing almost everything I ripped out the Dodge electronic ignition box and wiring and went with an Accel ECM ( or lord forbid a GM ECM ) No more ballist resistor - no more leaking goo - hotter spark and simpilar wiring . I have not fired it up . I need to find out what that rattle noise is .
