The only other advice I can offer is this:

- The only difference between cheap gauges and expensive gauges besides the price is appearance and accuracy. Cheap as well as expensive are developed to meet OEM specs. The more expensive is generally more appealing with a higher degree of accuracy in reading. I have yet to have a cheap set fail.

- Just because something comes from the factory does not mean it is correct. People do make mistakes and wires get crossed.

- Never assume pre-fabricated wiring is correct when experiencing a problem, do the review and validate it. After all, that’s why you have a problem.

- The ignition circuit is separate from the accessory circuit and just because the engine runs fine is no indication both systems are correct.

- If you don’t have one, buy yourself a “Basic Ignition and Electrical Systems” book covering late model systems. Peterson’s has produced good technical manuals.

- Determine how the system should be wired, validated it!
