Your truck is registered by the S.O. N.O. but the correct Serial Number would be found on the frame. Memory serves your truck was a few hundred off from mine on the serial number (VIN).

It should start with 218.

If I were you I would get the number off the frame, buy a reproduction small tag (the one that is missing on your truck) for the door jamb, stamp the number off the frame into the tag, and then go to the DMV and get them to change the title from the incorrect S.O. N.O. to the Serial Number. Of course that is a lot of silly hassle, but it would put the truck back to the way it should be registered in case you ever moved it out of state, or wanted to sell it.

The image is the two tags your truck should have on the door jamb. Dodge did this silly put the Serial Number on a smaller tag 1963-66 only. A lot of trucks are missing the small tag with the Serial Number. It causes me a lot of hassle when I am trying to document 60s trucks and I have to clean the frame to get a number. Obviously you also have the SERT tags. Sometimes the SERT tags have the Serial Number stamped in them as well.

Eric
