Light issues almost solved

Hello,

Thanks for the help on my headlights and tailights being out on the B1PW. Turns out the dash lights were also out and it was the fuse on the headlight switch. I now have front and rear lights, cowl lights and signal lights. I don't have brake lights. I'm assuming it is the brake light switch. I touched the two wires that connect to the switch together to see if the brake lights would light up and they did not. Should they have lit up? Could it be something else?
