Funny thing, when my mom and step-dad visited Hawaii (early 80's) they got sicker than dogs when they got there. Their week in Hawaii was limited to their hotel room, with room service bringing them water and some saltines. When they got better (week's end) they packed and went downstairs to wait for a cab. While waiting they both lit up again - and about gagged! Due to the illness they hadn't smoked for a week and they were awful tasting after that - so they both quit right there on the spot.
So maybe getting that sickness/illness was a blessing in disguise!!
