He exposed us five kids to everything a carpenter could. Tours of Navy ships, Camp Pendleton Rodeo, build a crystal set.
But a major impact for me was to watch Orin the well driller work. And, biggest thing, was a tour of Orin's shop, where I got to look into his forge. Red hot iron. Burned into my mind.
You just never know exactly what will grab a kid's attention.
