it seems that these are coming up again as a topic of concern. handled by heavy truck tire professionals, or trained dodgers, they are safe, common items that they deal with every day. pros have the hammers, spoons and restraining devices to make for safe installs and removals. the real reason to take them to a professional is to have the rims and rings evaluated. the enemy is dirt and rust. the safe course of action is to have the tires dismounted and have the rims inspected. if good, have them sandblasted and epoxy primed and painted inside and out. DO not use bad or questionable rims - take the professional's word. mount new tires, tubes and flaps and you should be good until the tires go bad. the big concern with the dodges, or any truck, should be the purchase and USE OF the proper jack stands and blocks to make sure you are safe under your truck. many many more people die under their trucks than from tire mounting accidents. be safe.
