Problem is with the big tires, you need a long stroke, Hydraulics won't cut it.

Scissors have the stroke, but not much mechanical advantage down low. Though there are some with reduction gears on the screw.

The modern screw types work OK, bring several blocks of wood to maximise the utility. And they will get fubar when sand gets inside.

2-3 tons ought to work. I wonder of motorhomes came with screw jacks?
