It just sounded like a regular Jerry can in the ad. Maybe you should put that extra stuff in there and somebody will want it.
Somewhere I read that if the tabs on the cap are bend around in in a curve, it's a WWII can and if they stick straight up it's a newer can. I thought all of them had "US" stamped in the side, but I never looked that closely. I suppose there are collectors who know about such things and pay a premium for the rare ones.
