Bring your shoes to a decent brake builder shop and they will clean and rebond/rivet shoes onto the metal from you for about $8 each - well under that the dealers sell them for. Around here (Central PA), it takes one business day for the shoe turnaround.

And yes, the shoe rebuilders use just the kind of machine that is being offered for sale in the post above.
