Excellent information Jackson, I did make the top plate and replaced the rod, the only original width (my reference) was the flat bar at the back of the winch.Will measure up my winch mounting brackets 27.5" center to center with 26" minimum inside rail to rail.

I have 53 M37 CDN fully restored and 51 M37 CDN original both with 251 and T98 Warner transmissions.
