It is only the exhaust pipe flange ears that are broke,braze it. A weld on cast iron will be no more durable than brazing it, if it would even be as durable as brazing. I worked for a year in a large machine shop that did large piece work with many old cast iron pieces from mills and foundries.I once asked why these pieces weren't welded instead of brazed thinking welding was stronger.To my amazement I found out that anybody that knows anything about cast iron would braze over trying to weld it. I also found out that this 500+ lb. piece had been fixed by brazing over ten years earlier being worked steady ever since.Brazing is more forgivng to shock and abuse than welded cast iron and is alot simpler and faster to do.
