I got my brushes at NAPA for my M37. They cost under $6.00. I had to match them up w/ the photos and file one brush down a tiny bit - sorry no number handy.

Changing the brushes on the sealed gen's takes about 20 minutes after you do a few - the first one took me 40 min! It's a simple and easy job.

As far as polorizing, just follow the manual - and use the elect break in kit if a M series MV. I have to polorize my last gen about 3 times with the last time being about 2 seconds before it started charging.
