Magnu Flux and shot peen. Most commonly used on rods. I dont think shot peening would help a crank shaft. I thought shot peening helped relieve stress of the metal and strengthen the surface of it. ShotPeen would probably screw up the surface of the journal and thats what you want real smooth and polished up.
If he's really worried about his crank and rods he should have his rods magnufluxed and shot peened and checked for straightness and then polish the crankshaft but most of this probably is not needed for a low rpm flat 6
