Went across country twice last year, six months apart between trips. On the first trip diesel on an average was 5-15 cents cheaper than unleaded, on the second trip it was 15-20 cents more than premium. This and the poor mileage figures sort of negates the advantage of a diesel, sure glad I waited before getting one. My big block 4.10 geared one ton 4x4 got 14.8 mpg at 70, I'd have to see quite an improvement with a diesel now to make it worth while.
