For your interest,I agree that the previous Dodge products were of substantial quality and were easily maintained,But I will NOT deal with a corporation that screws someone out of warranty replacement of a defective unit when that someone paid top dollar for their top of line coverage specifically to insure driveline components for failure. I aint the only crybaby on this point. I had several Dodge products that lasted a good long time as well but NEW Dodge still leaves a sustantial void in backing their product and the current corporation is in serious financial straits due to inept management.Don't hope for that special NEW Powerwagon unless there is a radical change in upper echelon management for Daimler-Chrysler. They are pulling a bait and switch. I will believe it only when I can test drive the rig itself and only if warranty is backed by Lloyds of London-type insuror. BTW,in my family day-driver FORD trucks have outlasted GM and Dodge products after 1974,so I went out on a limb when I bought my "96 brand spankin' stinkin' new only to have brake, transmission and electronic failure in wimpy day-to-day driving. This truck couldn't haul a canoe with any confidence. I am not a master mechanic and need my vehicles to WORK and not provide employment in a dealers shop. I can at least repair and operate my M43.My experience with heavy duty Ford trucks is a bit more favorable. Make no mistake, the old Dodges are the love of my life...but the NEW Dodge....no confidence at this point.
