You have the basic idea right. I don't know how to tell you to fasten the filter and output plumbing physically to the compressor. The Harrison DA-6 had a block that screwed on the back with O-ring seals, and you could drill and tap the block for 1/2" or 3/4" pipe fittings. I don't know what the York has on the back.

The compressor will dump into a pressure tank, the bigger the better so that the compressor doesn't cycle as quickly. You will need to get a pressure switch, just like the ones on portable air compressors and well pumps. Run a hot lead to the switch, and then over to the clutch. That's it. I would also recommend putting a pressure reliev valve on the tank, since most tanks are rated only to 150 psi or so, and an A/C compressor can easily put out 300+ psi. Nice little bomb there.

Once you have everything plumbed and fastened, you can put small pressure regulators on your output lines (in case you want to run two things at different pressures), or one main regulator. I've seen setups where there is one line to the front, one to the back, each with its own regulator. You will easily get 6-7 cfm from these compressors, which is enough to run a couple air nailers, a small sand blaster, and most air tools.
