On board air is the best thing that have ever done to my '74 Scout II. I had a York compressor in place. I used a lawn mower paper filter on the intake, a pressure relief valve (very important to have one of these), quick connect fittings and an air tank from a semi tractor. The compressor has an electric clutch, so I put an alligator clip on the clutch wire and simply clip it on the + post of the battery when needed. Why bother with a switch when the hood is already up? I use it every fall to blow out underground sprinkler lines for a friend, so it gets used hard and long with no problems. It will pump up a 31 x 10.50 x 15 tire from dead flat to 35 psi in about 2 minutes at an idle. Install it, you will never regret it.
