The warn lock-o-matic hub would allow four
wheel dr. by simply engaging four wheel drive
from inside your vehicle , this was a great
feature especially if you're stuck in a river or mud , now the down side of this hub was if you are in this river and grab four wheel drive and you start to dig-in going forward
then decide to try reverse the warn lock-o-matic would unwind and disengage four
wheel drive leaving just your rear wheels
spinning , also this hub will disengage on
compression breaking on down hill movement
so the best and safest route is to lock in
your hubs . Ken
