ed
before you hurt yourself or someone else
my dad (transmission line contractor 40's-50's) (we had lot's of flat fenders)
told me on day one "winch lines are the most
dangerous piece of equipment on the job"
on the jobs the booms/aframes were "rigged"
and operated by operating engineers only
no one else touched them!
if you want an a-frame for your rig take the
photo archive book with the picture on page
52 to a local crane/rigging company & see
if they can fabricate one for you - probably
wont due to insurance liability but it is worth a try
have you seen a boom collapse?
not a pretty sight
winch line part - also ugly
the creases in the cabs of pw's were most
likely made by the winch cable
just something to think about from an old
fart
