In either Murray or Pritchard, Idaho, there's the "Sprag Pole tavern", though they might serve gin. It was a mining town and a "sprag pole" props up the roof of a mine.
Anybody ever heard of a "Jill poke" or something like that? An old-timer used to use it in a context like, "If your front U-joint breaks and the driveline jams into the road, it'll make like a jill-poke and launch you into the air."
And seriously, whether you make a gin pole or an a-frame for the front of your truck, be real careful not to pull it over backwards onto the cab or your noggin. I've seen more than one truck with a big crease in the cab from that.
