Anyone have an address or phone or E mail for the Tool Tips, I have never bought from them. Also, if you don't have a catalog from Harbor Freight, they have some good tools and prices. www.harborfreight.com or 1-800-423-2567. I agree about the two stage compressor, buy the best one you can find and afford. I found one in Charlotte, NC a couple of years ago at a compressor sales/service dealer. He delt in big garage and industrial compressors. I was asking him if he had anything for a small one person garage, and he said he thought, let him check. I called back, he had one a garage had traded in on a larger model. It was a Kellog-American, two stage, eighty gallon tank, horizontal model. It did not have a motor. He ask $250 for it. He put a motor on it and let the pump run and build pressure for me to see, and then let the tank hold pressure for a while. It was really greasy and dirty, but I bought it. I ask why he was selling it so cheap, he said because it did not have a belt guard which is required by OSHA for a garage, and he did not want to fool with buying a belt guard, he just wanted to get it out of his warehouse. With a motor and a new cut off switch and some good cleaning, it looks really good, runs wonderful. Ended up with less than $700 total invested, I could hook up two air lines if I wanted and never run out of air. As far as room in the garage, it should not be in the garage anyway unless it is boxed off. It is sitting outside on a 2 inch concrete pad, next to the outside wall of the garage, with a little roof over it. Bottom line, if you can compromise on some things, you might find a good used one for a good price if you want to put some work into it. New mine would be about a $2000 compressor, according to the company. It is not new, but is about as good. Look for a compressor service/dealer somewhere and if your not in a hurry, call him every couple of weeks and see if he has or knows where any GOOD used ones are. I had to drive about two and one half or three hours each way to get mine, but I think it was well worth it. If you don't live near a big dealer/service center, it could be worth the phone calls and driving some to find one. Good luck, learn everything you can about then and the company that built it before you buy, less chance of getting ripped off.
