What's a good way to cut an internal keyway? I have a keyway broach set that I have used to cut keyways in aluminum pulleys by using an arbor press to press the broach through the bore, but now I need to cut two keyways on lovejoy (jaw) couplings that are made of sintered iron. I think there's a proper broaching machine that pulls the broach through rather than pushing it, but I don't have one of those. I'm afraid I'll break the broach trying to push it through with a press. Any other ideas? If I try it, should sintered iron be machined dry like cast, or with cutting oil?
