The ratio he has is 4.10 not 4.11. I have a set of 4.30's in my WC-12. The side gears on the 4 pinion units have a different spline count than the original 2 pinion units found on the Military 1/2 ton WC's, early 3/4 ton WC's and civi 1 ton trucks (1940-42). So when swapping out, you need to either swap out the side gears on the different third members or cut and weld the axle shafts to fit the side gears. I used the rear axle shafts that came with the 4.30 third member for the rear- they slide right in the 1/2 ton axle tube and have a slightly larger diameter thus are stronger than the 1/2 ton shafts. I then had the side gears replaced on the front 4.30 unit with the ones from my 1/2 ton unit so I could use my Rzeepa front drive shafts. I cruise at 55-60 MPH @ around 2500-2600 RPM's. I have 900-16's so my effective ratio is 3.94. Now I can at least cruise the slow lane and not get passed up like I am standing still. Most of my driving is done on city steets etc where the speed limit is in the 35 mph range.
