It seems its a 435 and not a 420 per the spec plate (now that I am beginning to understand what I am reading on the spec plate :). The guy that I have been talking to on the phone about it at the fire dept, said it did seem to have some down shifting issues. And he had to double clutch it in some gears? He also said that the clutch peddle was slow to return when he first drove it last week. But after a few miles it seemed to return okay....? The truck is used very seldom, he has only driven it a few times in the last few years. I expect to have a lot of things that will need to be done to it to get it into shape. He says they have kept fresh gas in it and all fluids changed regularly...... I need it to run for about 500 miles to get it home......he says it will make it.......we will see LOL
(I am prepared to have to make a few fix it stops on the way home. And as long as they are minor, I can figure it out I hope...:)
