It's kind of amazing -- every time I go down there, Terry is in the iron side of the warehouse, making all kinds of bars, hooks, hangers, and what-nots from iron stock, half the time working at the gas-fired forge with a huge old anvil. This is not one-off decorative pot hangers to sell at the street fair, but bins full of production quantities, all hand-forged, bent and welded. They ship this stuff to mines all over the world. Who would think that in Wallace, Idaho there's still a blacksmith making mine parts and tools by hand?

This is the building that used to be the Coeur d'Alene Hardware company -- the biggest hardware store in the Northwest and the maker of ore cars, jumbo drills, and other mining machinery. Across the street used to be the foundry where they did the castings. They tore the building down but the foundation of the furnace is still there.
