Alright, I jumped the trigger on the new starter earlier....made bad noises, then would just arc when I bench tested it...no motor running....so I swapped the old starter back on..key still does not work...I forgot to turn the ignition off when I jumped the trigger and the truck started right up on the first crank. Now the check engine light is on and using the 3 on-off method I am getting a DTC P1693 which was not present before this whole mess...guess I'll return the piece of crap starter and borrow a code reader.
