Ooops. reread, you already have the head off.

Later heads are better design, generally in numerical order, higher casting number = better breathing. 1671337 is the best. All three of mine are 1311804, 110 psi.

But yes, there is plenty of room around the cylinders and valves for carbon to build up.

And on the engine I'm cleaning up for use, I used a rotary sanding drum to round over all the sharp corners left where ever the edges hang over the gasket. Theory is those sharp edges get hot enough to ignite the mix tooo early, pinging.
