Funny you mentioned learning the hard way. Seems that's a definite for some and it can't be any other way. I too may have learned this leason the hard way in my own equipment if I hadn't seen the resultant issues in another's engine first. Thank God I was able to benefit from someone else's mistake to ward off the issue in my own stuff. I've seen similar issues in so many areas of life, now when I get a warning about something; no matter how stupid I may think it is, I try to take time to weigh the suggestion before making a decision to consider it or can it. Sometimes I can make an almost instant decision that it isn't right and act accordingly; while other times it takes a little time and judgement call from other sources.

I'm 59 years old in about 8 weeks; God has used the wisdom of other's many times to help me avoid various pitfalls in life's journey. Oh yes, I've thought I had the right answer at times and acted on it only to discover just how little I really knew; ever see the movie "BRUCE ALMIGHTY?" Had that to happen enough times that I've learned I can get into some pretty bad spots if I failed to take a hard look. Also learned I don't like being in hard spots.

I mentioned the free will issue in a post yesterday; we all have one and it applies to literally EVERYTHING. Another thing I've learned along the way; it isn't my responsibility to try and influence your decision about anything. On the other hand, I would be poor excuse for a friend if I didn't warn you of likely problems headed your way. Like Norm has already said, it's a warning based on real experience. You can make your decision however you like.
