I ran the pulley off a generator. Shaft size is metric, to suit the bearings. 14mm? 15mm? No, 17mm, .670 inches.

But I run junkyard parts, they come with pulleys, no charge. Then later, as required, brushes cost $6, regulator $11, long time down the road if you pick a nice shiny rebuild from the wreckers. And a Caddy will have the SI12, same price, if you think you want the honking huge output.

OR, there is a much smaller one on compact GMs, might make fitting a PS pump easier, still have plenty amps for a radio.

And hey, you only need two wires of the three wire system, unless the alt is brand spanking new. The white wire is only necessary for the idiot light, and if the new alt has no residual magnetism built up from years of use- like a rebuilt or junkyard part would.

And did you know that the AC clutch pulls 35 amps alone? That is what the large charge systems are necessary for.
