When you drive in deep ruts the center of the trail is built up, the centered pumpkin will drag on the high point. If the pumpkin is off-set to one side it's not dragging along the highest part of the trail. What's the benefit of the centered pumpkin? Easier to work on? Better distribution of power to both sides? I don't think I've ever asked or been told why so many folks seek this set up.
