A couple years ago at work (Federal employee here) we had a LOT of old computers we were going to donate to a small college here in Nebraska. At the last minute some GENIUS in D.C. said we couldn't. They were afraid we might have some sort of Top Secret-Squirrel info on them. The guys in our supply section offered to pull out the hard drives and run them over with the fork lift, just donate the computers, the school could pop for new hard drives. Nope. So the entire stash, CPUs, monitors, keyboards, the whole kit-and-kaboodle was trashed.
