I have doen it on every one I ahve rebuilt. bigger cam, shaved head up to .075. that alone will not increase comppression too much but when you rebuild the engine the more you bore it out the higher the compreession becomes. I have never blown a head gasket after doing this and i used to drive some of my trucks daily for years at a time.
