plane the head at your peril. you can get a higher compression head from a car. basically, the more compression you achieve, the faster you will blow out the head gasket. the design is poor under standard conditions, worse under higher stress. tweak your ignition and intake and exhaust. best ways to wake up a flat head. there is a better breathing cam with springs for those who want to do a 2bbl carb and split exhaust.
