I would hate to total up the amount spent in restoration of my B4, To make matters worst, I retrofitted a 251 CI Dodge engine in place of the original 230- thankfully I kept the original if I ever want to go back. But once you buy the 251 (rebuilt), you need to modify the radiator so I I put in a new core and do what's required to make room for the new(old)engine. Then of course you need an electric fan because thereis no room for the mechanical belt driven one. Adsd this different front motor mount and on and on. Lesson learned: Think twice about making changes to the original plan. Things are they way they are for a reason. When I see guys doing major engine exchanges your are talking big bucks and a lot of sweat. If I had to do all over gain I would stick with the original engine and rebuild it- Although I did need a new radiator core.
