I wish gas pumps were labled showing where the petroleum comes from, or more importantly, how much of the money you pay at the pump is going to places like Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Iraq.
On average, the U.S exports $1 billion a day on imported petroleum. That is more than $600,000 a minute that could be spent to better our communities instead of exporting American wealth. Think how much that money would benefit your community if it was spent in local businesses where your neighbors work.
I support every consumer's right to know what is in the pump. I also encourage us to embrace American-made fuel.
Carburetors can be tuned to run on any known percetage of alcohol, they just aren't as flexible as computer controlled cars.
I'm tired of replacing shitty fuel pump diaphrams. I blame that problem on cheap replacement parts. Either way, it is a small inconvenience compared to the sacrifices made to continue our relaince on imported oil.
It is inconvenient when gasoline goes bad sitting in an unused vehicle, but if petroleum from the Middel East is our only option, fuel prices are going to keep rising, and our old vehicles will be sitting a lot more. We won't be able to afford to drive them. We might even be forced to sell our collectibles to the Chinese, so we can buy importred fuel for our imported cars.
