My own plan:
Dry blast using a borrowed pressure pot, in a tent. Silica sand. With respiration. Followed asap with DTM epoxy primer. The Direct To Metal epoxy is supposed to be the hot ticket theses days, no acid prep needed.

I'm think black epoxy 'primer', one coat and done with the chassis stuff. Better paint than factory? Factory seems to have been one shot, black enamel.

Too bad that I cut apart my #2 cheap engine stand, now I have to rebuild it for use as one end of a frame rotisserie. But I think it will be worth it for doing the frame. Axles, gearboxes, running boards also need the tent. Cab and fenders are iffy, no rust through, and only a couple layers of paint. Springs and small parts in the cabinet, with an extension build to the door end for long parts.

Blast a complete engine and tranny? Or just pressure wash and paint?

Silica sand here runs $7 bag, one mile away. probably about 30 grit. I figure to use it 2-3 times, screening it will be the PITA. Biggest prob will be the haul away. Bit much for the trash can. But I've got a nephew in the bobcat business.
