I seem to recall reading on here that some one had some high strength axles made a number of years ago and they broke also. I think the issue with PW axles is the spline design and the offset rear diff. no flex on short side, long side can jump rope under load causing breakage, and coarse splines are weak. I think the best solution is to lose the offset rear axle and go with a centered one. I have been considering building a jig to modify stock houseings to accept a centered diff. since the WW2 houseings arer becomeing a bitmore scarce it seems. the axlss are still available NOS. anyone interested in a modified housing? precision would be guareteed
