Needs to be a good strong pin through the end or it will bend, as I discovered. I ended up backing up the pin with a thick fillet of weld. The handle I made of 3/4" mild steel rod and it was plenty strong enough. Have not tried to actually start the engine with it, but it's handy for turning it while working on it.
