1/2 ton WC coil

AS I'm putting everything back together on my truck I realized that the ignition switch goes directly to the back of the coil. Is there a special 12 volt coil with with the + terminal on the back of the coil? to hook the ignition wire to. I like the thinking behind the spring covered wire from the switch to the coil I suppose to keep thieves from reaching under the dash with wire cutters and snipping the wire to start the truck. I have a parts WC with a coil still in it that has the terminal on the back of the coil but I'm sure it's 6 volt. Do they make such an animal anymore? It's a pretty strange set-up, but cool.Thanks
