The Chevys were a ten lug hub center setup. The bolt center was on a slightly smaller radius but because the holes for the lugs are much smaller, the 5 lug PW pattern can be machined in to the wheel where 5 of the original holes used to be. These Chevy wheels are robust with thick centers and no cracks, unlike the Ford AA centers(I have a set of 5 of these), which many have cracks before enlarging the center hole to fit over the PW hub. The set of converted Chevy wheels I had were a three piece snap ring type and originally wore 8.25-20 tires. Bryan Sage is knowledgeable about the Chevy wheel conversion, having built more than a couple of sets.

A friend of mine has a set of the Ford AA centers welded into some Dayton 20" rims.
