When I was an impressionable little kid my uncle told me some bizarre things. Like hominy was poisonous to little kids (because he loved hominy). I once asked him what Russians looked like, since I had seen Japanese, Chinese, Negro (politically correct in the early '50s), and Mexican people, but never a Russian. He told me they had square heads. I believed him, of course, and it wasn't until some time later when I saw a National Geographic article on Russia that I discovered they really didn't have square heads.
