Yes you could do it. By the time you spent a BIG heap of dollars converting to drive the diesel lift pump, fitted injectors, raised the compression to at least 15:1, it would probably fire up and blow apart quicker than you could count how many dollars you spent. Then of course you would probably need a 7 main bearing crank and heavy rods, different pistons to make it even a little reliable and then it wouldn't be much like one of our engines. When Dodge used the diesel around 1940 it didn't look a lot like our flattie for very good reasons.
