long island is relatively flat. the 'off road' features of the edelbrock and the off the shelf and drop on fit my sensibilities. i do not mess with carbs or automatic transmissions. the guy i sold my m37 is a serious offroader and i never heard anything about the carb even though his wheeling was severe enough to dump power steering fluid.
its all what works for you. i regret selling my stock cast iron 230 intake manifold that took a 2bbl carb. it was fro a car application. i wanted to add it to my command car some day along with a hopped up 230... runs perfect and is all stock now.
