The Edelbrock carburetors you can buy off the shelf at any parts store are nice for that reason-you can get parts or complete repalcements anywhere, anytime. They are alre easy to work on, not that you have to work on them a lot. They run great on road and decent offroad.

I used a Motorcraft 4100 on my AMC 360. It's advantage over the Edelbrock is the Motocraft floats rock side-to-side while the Edelbrock floats rock front to back. This means the Motorcraft is less effected by steep climbs and descents. The tradeoff is the Motorcraft is more likely to flood or starve on side hills, but you're really not suppose to traverse steep side hills or you will roll the vehicle.
