you can get away with that on servo style brakes most people are familiar with. but the PW / WC brakes are fixed anchor or non servo type. with non servo the fit and adjustment is much more important for peek performance. Even on my SErvo style 61 D300 I arced the shoes so there is no break in time. what is I ahve a load during break in time? might get too hot of brakes and crash. the reliners will arc shoes for free if you have them turn your drums or they will arc for usually less than 20 an axle if you just bring in your parts.
